Progression:

PROGRESSION: Principles of scoring individuals

Levels

A major object of ECAO for members is progression of Level. Incentives to progression involve not only attainment of higher levels relating to personal challenges or satisfaction or recognitions within this group or on curriculum vitae, but the ability to command higher consultancy levels and possibly fees.

Another High IQ society involves progression and the mechanism has similarities:  It  is similar but the requirements are far higher than the Thousand International Society for Philosophical Enquiry— ISPE.  Because of this we respect progression points on ISPE which count towards individual achievement in the Creativity Section.  However, the extent of achievement required for advancement in ECAO is much higher, both in individual achievement, and need to progress at levels but can be broadly  attained through  education and the creativity criteria. The other major differences are the initial higher IQ requirements and the absence of time restrictions with ECAO (with the exceptions of  the highest levels which require nomination and voting).

The mechanism of recording information is designed to save time: The progression records are directly and electronically recorded into a database by the applying individual, and automatically scored using the listed criteria. This allows for  the labor required for supervisors to be markedly diminished yet a potential audit trail is set up. The records are added into a spreadsheet allowing these audits to be done at any time.  This means that individuals must be honest in their records of progression which are automatically scored. A time-saving approach for the applicant is to attach an authentic, already established  curriculum vitae  to assist in proofs. Because false declarations could mean expulsion form the society and possible criminal or civil proceedings, and false information also requires payment of the costs of the audit, we believe that false information should be rare.

  • Any progression must officially be approved by the board. Advancements cannot be approved by oneself (if a board member).
  • Progression is based on a secure mechanism of self-reporting on the Internet where individuals must be honest in their records of progression.
  • Criteria may be reviewed by the board at any time and point scores altered. However, if the points have already been allocated they will not be subtracted if lowered (i.e. grandfathering of points), although they may increase if the board decides.

BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The entry requirements  are absolute requirements for initial membership ant the maintained ethical requirements are also absolute for continued membership.

In the event of functionality of the individual being significantly diminished once membership is established (e.g.,.through illness—physical or mental or injury)  the individual is expected to step down from any consultancies and this is part of the annual review form required to be signed.

a. Intelligence minima as listed under Intelligence requirement. Membership requires 1 in 5000 IQ as enumerated. Asssociateship requires 1 in 1000 at minimum.

b. Excellent moral character as listed under the ethical requirements.

c. Educational level or equivalent for full membership:  these require 35 educational points.  This translates usually to a Masters degree or equivalent (e.g. law, accounting) such as post-bachelor’s/ post-honors qualification with additional small amounts of extras such as a small creative endeavor, publications or  citations or honorary degrees (e.g. non-political doctorates) allow the minimal requirement of entry into Candidate Level 1  (equivalent to a total score of ≥60 points) (Qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution.

d. Creative achievement is a limited criterion of admission (there are still small demonstrable needs to achieve level 1)  but is involved significantly with progression

SCORING PROGRESSION:

The areas of scoring are:

These  are listed below in more detail:

EDUCATION : See section under education .This lists points, as well.

CREATiVITY :  AUTHORSHIP ACHIEVEMENT AND  CREATIVE RECOGNITION =2 MAJOR HEADERS

The creative recognition can be individual, societal over time and societal one time achievements.

In all instances, the conservative approach of less points than more will be used in the event of doubt.

All data is cumulative unless otherwise stated.

Levels of admission: 14 levels of admission AND 4 tiers of recognition

For detailed information on the 4 different tiers and 14 different  levels (this is more technical information) consult the Tiers and Levels  section: www.5eca.com/levels section.

Essentially, these reflect progression for members:  The four tiers are Candidates, Representatives, Fellows, Professors. These correspond with different levels: Levels 1-3,  4-7, 8-11, 11-14 respectively. Those not qualiifying for Membership can join as Friends, and they may qualify as Associates (higher level) and Affiliates.

For more information on Associates and Affiliates, consult the Friends section: www.5eca.com/friends.

Thus for scoring below the level of Candidates i.e. for Associates and Affiliates, refer to the discussion on those pages. The principles below are exactly the same in terms of progress, however, but some cannot become Candidates because they are e.g. at the 1 in 1000 IQ level not 1 in 5000. This would mean that to be an Associate, the requirements for Candidate Level 1 were fulfilled other than the intelligence one. On the other hand, some with IQ≥1 in 5000 would not have sufficient Education points or Total points to qualify for Candidate Level 1 but would when those were gained.

For detailed information on the several codes in the complex scoring system (this is more technical information) consult the Coding Scores section: www.5eca.com/coding

Generally you can ignore the complexity of this system designed to ensure a balance in progression through the different levels. The most relevant component is simply the  overall points requirement once an individual has been admitted to membership.

For specifics relating to each category consult the  Scoring Specific Points section: www.5eca.com/specifics

You should concentrate on the total score. It will be the exception not to make it if the total score is covered with Candidates and if there is significant added creativity with Representatives. Do not attempt to understand initially the various scoring of tiers and categories.
